THE OVERCOAT
Based on the classic short story by Nikolai Gogol, The Overcoat tells the story of a lonely office clerk in St Petersburg who wishes for a new coat in order to fit in with his friends, only for fate to take a ghostly hand…
A collaboration with AFilm Estonia, and made with a combination of both traditional hand drawn animation and modern CG techniques, The Overcoat is a warm family film with an important central message about empathy and understanding.
On this Project I was a character sculptor, modeller, rigger and textured one or two of the characters. I also worked as a lighting artist and comped a number of shots later in the production. Below are some of the characters and scenes I worked on.
Software: Zbrush, 3ds Max, After Effects
Produced by: Giant Animation
